RSVP?

Wow, what a Labor Day weekend it has been! Between working a ton and partying a ton, I'm exhausted and have been quite clearly reminded that I am not in college anymore! I'm off to work job #2 at the mall today- Holiday time and a half! WOO!- but thought I'd point out something that made me and Mr Pug go "hmmmm...?"

Have you ever gotten an RSVP card like this?? Do I write in a paragraph about how pumped I am? Or do we write "Mr and Miss Pug will attend?" Or just our names and "Can't wait!" I'm sure it's not rocket science and whatever we do will be fine, as long as our names and intentions are on there... but this one definitely threw us for a loop. What kind of RSVP cards have you seen?

  1. Hmmmm that is very peculiar! I think you should write your own creative response! That is pretty funny though!

  2. This is how we had my bat mitzvah response cards and will probably have our wedding response cards. Usually most people write "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith are honored to attend your special day. We cannot wait" or something along those lines.

This is Misa btw... for some reason blogspot won't log me in. Weird.

  3. You should just write your own response.

  4. I have never seen that. I hope they secretly numbered their RSVP's or envelopes and from this angle it doesn't look that way. Otherwise they will be in for a big surprise in that not everyone will remember to put their names on it .. or their intentions of coming or not. I think that is why it's more courteous and proper etiquette to put a response on there for people .. "Will attend" or "Regretfully decline".

RSVP's have been the worst part of planning for me. Anyone else?

  5. RSVP's have definitely been a pain for me too! People not putting their names, luckily their return address or post mark has made it easy for me determine the guest - people NOT RSVPing, the deadline was today and we're still about 25% no responses from people - let the calls and emails begin! And the worst has been people not understanding it's a plated meal - we wrote please initial the entree of choice for each guest or something like that but SO MANY have just checked or x'd their meals leaving me to go back and inquire does Mr. wants this and Mrs. wants that? I will be glad when we know who's coming and who's not so seating chart can begin!

And Miss Pug, I've never see an RSVP like that. Write you names, that you will attend and then a note. I've been a little disappointed in the lack of notes on our cards :( Or you could draw your own M____________ ___Will Attend _____ Regretfully decline to let them know in the future it may be best to help a guest out ;)

  7. (cinemaparadiso from weddingbee!)

Ooh, I would write "Before the ninth of October." Since, you know, they said to reply! :) In all seriousness I'd call them up and see what the deal is.

  8. I've never actually received a blank RSVP card, but I've read about them in blogs! Most of the brides that I've seen use them, hope to receive cute little notes or something scrapbook worthy.

If it were me, I'd write my response--including our names--and maybe draw a little doodle and send them my love!

  9. You can read about how to respond here: http://www.crane.com/navContentProduct.aspx?NavName=Etiquette_Tips&DeptName=Etiquette_Wedding&Name=WedEt_Responding&ContentPage=RespondInvite_FormalResponses

We are not supplying RSVP cards as they are not required. The guests will be required to write us a response.
